Ashok Kannan, Design Director

Mr. Ashok Kannan graduated from Poona University in 1988 in India. He has worked on Structural Designs of Commercial and High-Rise Residential Towers, Hotels, Industrial Projects, Road Bridges, Railway Bridges and Flyovers etc.

Responsibilities includes

• A Good Knowledge of the design and construction techniques prevalent in Indian and GCC region. Conversant with all International Codes on Reinforced Concrete and Steel including British, American and Indian Standards.
• Has extensively worked on Structural Analysis and Design Programs and has excellent command over Structural analysis packages like ETABS, SAFE, STAAD-PRO.,etc
• Developed several user-friendly software programs in C#/Visual Basic/Excel/Auto CAD for analysis, design and drafting of Structures. Good command over AutoCAD and Revit

Area Of Specialisation

• Have extensively worked on Structural Analysis and Design Programs and has excellent command over structural packages like ETABS, SAFE, etc.
• Have worked on Blast Resistant Analysis and Design
• Extremely familiar with Microsoft Office viz. Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Totally conversant with Indian & American Standards.
• Deciding / reviewing the lateral and gravity framing system and suggest alternative system, if any, that can further, optimize the structure.
• Preparing / reviewing the structural FEM model with the structural / architectural or MEP drawings and hence validating the system from strength / serviceability consideration.
• Attending the client-initiated project meeting while coordinating with other disciplines during the entire project construction phase.
• Involved in preparing structural specifications, construction documents, checking shop drawings, peer review & value engineering, responding to RFI’s & producing a complete design package.
