Abhay Ghate, Chairman

Abhay Ghate, graduated from University of Bombay in 1970 and completed his post graduate studies from I.I.T. Bombay obtaining a degree M. TECH. (Structures) in 1972. He has gained over 46 years of experience in his field having worked on many prestigious projects in India, U.A.E, Bahrain and Singapore. He has worked on Structural Designs of Hotels, Hospitals, Oil and Gas Structures, Jetties, Steel Plants, Textile Mills, Chemical Plants, High Rise Commercial and Residential Towers, Shopping Centers and Malls and Blast Resistant Structures. Abhay Ghate received recognition when Optimal received Excellence in Consultancy Services Award First Prize 2006 from Consultancy Development Centre of Govt. of India for Design of Jumeriah Beach Residence Project, Dubai. Among other notable structures which he has designed include Five Hotels in Doha, Hotel Marriot Courtyard, Renaissance, Rotana, Merweb and Shangri-La which are over 200 mtr tall. Recently completed Formula –I Structures for Jaypee Group have been designed by Optimal for which Optimal got Alpha Acetech Award 2016 for most outstanding structural design. The ongoing projects include IREO City at Gurgaon, REC World Headquarters at Gurgaon and South Asian University at New Delhi etc.
